Liverpool and Sunderland have agreed a deal to be worth of £20m for midfielder Jordan Henderson.
The 20 year old will head to Anfield today for medical and discuss personal terms. Sunderland had rejected Liverpool’s previous offer was rejected by Sunderland, which was about £16m for the England Youngster.
The transfer was confirmed when Sunderland issues a statement that: “A fee has been agreed with Liverpool for Jordan Henderson and he travels to Anfield with the club’s blessing.”
A Liverpool statement added: ‘Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson. The 20-year-old will today discuss personal terms and undergo a medical on Merseyside after a fee was agreed between the two clubs.
Liverpool striker David Ngog is moving to Sunderland as part of the deal, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Henderson is Kenny Dalglish’s first major signing of the summer. Blackburn center half Phil Jones, Blackpool captain Charlie Adam and Ipswich’s 18-year-old striker Connor Wickham are the other targets to be buy in this transfer window in order to strength their squad to regain the champions league spot.
